MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

BDC Building Bridges Mentorship Program is a unique and powerful opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to gain valuable skills and knowledge, connect with experienced mentors, and build a foundation for a successful future. The program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of today's young adults, who face a rapidly changing job market and a host of new challenges and opportunities in the digital age.

CRITERIA

  1. 1.
    Commitment to Community Service: Applicants must have a strong commitment to community service and a desire to make a positive impact in their local community.
  2. 2.
    Leadership Skills: Applicants must have demonstrated leadership skills in school or community organizations, such as volunteering for a local nonprofit, or participating in a service project.
  3. 3.
    Communication Skills: Applicants must have strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate their ideas and goals clearly and effectively.
  4. 4.
    Career Goals: Applicants must have a clear understanding of their career goals and be able to articulate how participation in the program will help them achieve those goals.
  5. 5.
    Availability and Commitment: Applicants must be available to participate in the program for the entire duration of the program and demonstrate a strong commitment to attending all meetings and events.
  6. 6.
    Diversity and Inclusion: The program seeks to promote diversity and inclusion, so applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The primary purpose of the Youth Program Code of Conduct is to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at events and activities hosted by the BDC Youth Mentoring Program. It applies to all participants, including minors, their parents, and volunteers.

As a participant in this program, I will:

  1. 1.
    Conduct myself in a courteous manner and treat members, parents, volunteers, staff, and others with respect. Appropriate language and behavior are expected at all times.
  2. 2.
    Respect and adhere to the rules and guidelines of the program including all those specific to this event or activity.
  3. 3.
    Uphold an individual's right to dignity by supporting an environment of inclusion which welcomes involvement of participants from all backgrounds.
  4. 4.
    Obey local, state and federal laws.

I understand if I fail to adhere to the above Code of Conduct, I will be subject to disciplinary action and potentially prohibited from attending and participating in this program.

I have been given a copy of the rules for this event and agree to abide by them. I have conveyed this information to the youth participant for which I am responsible.
